Classes are held in the second floor sewing studio at:
Crafty Baba, 32 St Peter's St, Ipswich IP1 1XB, U.K.
Please be aware that the studio is on the second floor with stairs only.
All courses are 6 weeks and run on either Tuesday or Wednesday from 10am - 12.00pm.

Sewing, Fitting and Pattern Club
Bring your own projects, make the most of the big tables and get tailored support and instruction.
Whether its fitting a sewing pattern, design, pattern hacking, drafting, sewing, mending or up cycling, I will be there to help you with any issues.
Make the most of my 20 years of experience in fashion design, sewing and pattern cutting to get support for your own project.
What's included:
Tuition, Workspace, use of sewing machines and notions, Paper and Calico and tailored support and instruction.
You'll also need a sewing machine to continue some of the sewing at home. There is a range of sewing machines available to use during the class.
Skill Level:
experienced beginner/ intermediate - You know how to use a sewing machine and have made patterns/clothes before.
This Club will work best if you're already a confident beginner and now need more tailored advice for your own projects. It's perfect if you've done any of the intermediate classes with Crafty Baba.
Timings:
6 week course starts Tuesday, 7th of January 2025. Last lesson on Tuesday 11th of February. 10am-12.00pm

Create Your Own Made-To Measure Sewing Patterns - Circle Skirt And Panel Skirt.
Learn how to draft your own sewing patterns from your measurements.
This is a quick and fun way of making your own clothes in your own style without buying sewing patterns. Once you've learnt these methods, you'll be able to use them to draft to any size and they're also great for pattern hacking.
You'll learn how to draft, fit and sew 2 styles: Circle Skirt and 6 Panel skirt
What's included:
Tuition, Workspace, use of sewing machines and notions, Paper and Calico.
If you want to make your skirts in other fabrics, you can of course supply it yourself.
. You'll also need a sewing machine to continue some of the sewing at home.
Skill Level:
Confident Beginner - You know how to use a sewing machine and have sewn patterns before.
This Course is perfect if you've already done some sewing classes with Crafty Baba and know your way around a sewing machine. Ideally you've sewn a zip before.
Class Size: Maximum of 6 students.
Timings: 6 week course starts Wednesday , 8th of January, last lesson on Wednesday 12th of February. 10am-12.00pm

Circle Skirt:
Lesson 1: Learn how to measure yourself. Learn to design and draft a full, half, wrap or quarter circle skirt. Home work: Cut out the pattern in calico if needed.
Lesson 2: Learn how to sew a toile, fit check and amend your pattern.
Home work: Cut out the pattern in fabric.
Lesson 3: Learn to sew the skirt together. Homework: Finish Sewing your skirt if needed
Panel Skirt:
Lesson 1: Learn how to measure yourself. Learn to design and draft a full, half, wrap or quarter circle skirt. Home work: Cut out the pattern in calico if needed.

Meet your Instructor
Hello!
I’m Charlotta and I'm so excited to finally offer you classes in Ipswich for 2025. I'm a fashion designer and pattern cutter by trade and I also lectured in Fashion Design at Suffolk New College from 2009 to 2018.
Most of all I'm really passionate about teaching people like you to make clothes that fit and bring you joy.
Whether you’re interested in improving your sewing skills, finally getting sewing patterns to fit, pattern hacking or drafting your own patterns - I'm here to make these dreams a reality.
The last five years I've been mainly teaching online. It’s really exciting to have found a great sewing studio at Crafty Baba so I can now offer real in person classes again.
I look forward to offering a lot of different courses throughout 2025, starting with two for January.
